With the end of the bathing season, SUMA takes a very positive view of the work carried out over the summer on dozens of beaches from north to south of the country — from Caminha to Lagoa, passing through Vila do Conde, Esposende, Ílhavo, Alcobaça, Mafra, Sintra, Peniche, and Beja.

During the summer, the company's operational teams ensured the mechanical and manual cleaning of the sand, the removal of waste, the cleaning of accesses, parking lots, and surrounding areas, and the emptying and washing of trash cans and containers, contributing to the quality and safety of bathing areas and to a more sustainable and enjoyable summer experience.

In addition to the operational aspect, SUMA's Environmental Education and Awareness promoted various campaigns and educational activities on beaches and river areas in Caminha, Vila Nova de Gaia, Alcobaça, Coimbra, Santa Maria da Feira, and Guarda, promoting activities such as “Not littering is as important as knowing how to swim,” “Beach without waste,” “Ecobike,” “Forgotten and Found / Nature Restoration,” and “Stop and Repair.”

These actions involved thousands of vacationers of all ages, reinforcing the importance of prevention, waste reduction, and the adoption of environmentally responsible behaviors.

By combining cleaning services with environmental awareness initiatives, SUMA reaffirms its commitment to preserving coastal and river ecosystems, promoting sustainability, and enhancing public spaces.
