The dynamism and innovation of SUMA on the various operational fronts is reflected in the 200 plus municipalities that make up the national customer base, which amounts to approximately 2 million inhabitants served in the collection of waste and urban cleaning, and more than 6 million in treatment.
Comprised of over fifty companies dedicated to assuring excellence in the integrated management of the waste life cycle, SUMA also pursues sustained growth and geographic implantation abroad, through an ambitious internationalization project, with contracts celebrated in Angola, Brazil, Mozambique and Oman.
Since its inception, the investment in environmental awareness and education, pillar of SUMA’s social responsability policy, has been one of the key elements in the differentiation of the company’s performance. Promoting urbanity and citizenship in the countries where it operates, it is SUMA’s priority to educate the populations to adopt routines fitting reduction, reuse and recycling logic, developing functional environmental literacy and fulfilling the objectives set forth in the National Strategy on Environmental Education 2020.
