The 4th edition of the Safety Global Stand Down took place today across the Mota-Engil Group, a cross-cutting initiative that brought together all the Group’s business areas in a Global Safety Pause.
This operational shutdown aimed primarily to reinforce the fight against workplace accidents, promoting a moment of reflection and awareness on the importance of complying with safety rules and best practices as a fundamental pillar of daily activity.
In his address, Hugo Pereira, CEO of Mota-Engil Ambiente e Energia, highlighted the relevance of this initiative, stressing that workplace safety must be present across all areas of activity, every day, as a collective and ongoing commitment.
During the session, the Golden Safety Rules were also revisited and reinforced, guiding the actions of all teams, regardless of their role or workplace, and contributing to the development of a strong and shared culture of prevention.
Within SUMA, the initiative saw the active participation of teams, reinforcing the importance of safety in waste collection and management operations—activities that require high levels of attention, responsibility and strict compliance with safety procedures.
